Latitudes at Airfield- Lucinda Jacob

Here is another preview of work in progress for our new exhibition Latitudes opening at Airfield House  on 19th of May.

Lucinda Jacob uses stitch, lacemaking and print techniques, often using unwanted and discarded materials to make something new.  In her new work for this exhibition  she is looking back at the stories she heard as a child of the Overend sisters, of their work on the farm with their famous Jersey herd, and of their fabulous cars which they maintained themselves.  She is using workwear, a boiler suit and overalls with traditional Irish Crochet and other stitch techniques worked in string and binder twine to reflect this aspect of their lives at Airfield.
