Latitudes – Hilary Bell

Hilary Bell looks at the changes that have taken place in Airfield and reflects on aspects of impermanence and reality. Her work is mostly in felt and her sculptural pieces are based on rocks and stones which appear to be the most permanent of things around us – but are they? Science informs us that the earth has been formed from colliding particles and that stones actually consist of space with energy forces giving them strength. The idea that emptiness and energy can give strength is a concept she wants to explore.

One Response to Latitudes – Hilary Bell

  1. I love all of your art!! I will be leading a tour to Ireland in May 2012 to some of Ireland’s sacred sites that have inspired my art quilts. I am also looking for artists to visit and if you have you work on display I would love to know about it. I am not sure where you are located. Thank you and congratulations!!
